The Do Nothing GOP Pissing On January’s Jobs Report. Unemployment Down to 8.3%.

Since the day the President was inaugurated, the GOP has been wanting the President to fail – to make him a one term President. In fact, they have been working relentlessly saying NO to everything President Obama has proposed to move the country in the right direction. One Presidential candidate believed and was hoping for a higher unemployment rate so that her chances of being elected would go up. Right-wing media figures have advised congressional Republicans to refuse to compromise on the debt ceiling drama wanting to let the country default thinking it could hurt the President in 2012. MediaMatters has more on the GOP’s let’s make Obama a one-term President Strategy.

Well, the news from yesterday is just another painful dilemma for the Republicans as the economy added 257,000 private sector jobs last month dropping the unemployment rate to 8.3 percent — its lowest level since February 2009. That figure is well ahead of what the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics had estimated.

Since President Obama took office, he has been tackling difficult issues that may not be politically comfortable but he has made some tough decisions to make sure that America is moving forward fixing the problems that got us into one of the worst recession since the great depression. The GOP leadership and its corporate run media outlets however have been pushing for the same ole same ole failed policies that drove us into the ditch in the first place wishing for the economy to do poorly so that they could score political points than see America succeed. Nonetheless, the President with all of the GOP’s objections have been able to push legislation that achieved many great things in these partisan political environment.

Take 1 Take 2 Take 3

So, today instead of being happy that the economy is growing, we have created over 3.2 million jobs, we are bringing back manufacturing jobs at record levels in decades and reversing years of bad policies that assisted in the exploitation of the middle class by Corporations and the haves, the Republicans are pissing on any and everything that remotely give the President good marks despite all of the progress we are making and/or have made to date.

As Americans, we have a responsibility to do good for the country regardless of our party affiliations. It is un-Americana and unpatriotic to wish bad for American or spin the good to try to drag the country down for political advantage as some Republicans are doing today. House Speaker John Boehner said, “Our unemployment rate is still far too high. Our economy still isn’t creating jobs the way it should be” charging President Obama with making the economy worse. Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney said, “We welcome the fact that jobs were created and unemployment declined. Unfortunately, these numbers cannot hide the fact that President Obama’s policies have prevented a true economic recovery. We can do better.” Well, I shouldn’t say much about Romney because this video says it all:

Well, with or without this Rethugs, President Obama is helping America move in the right direction and the GOP is just losing their mind. The American people are taking note about what Republicans stand for as they are slowly but surely being unmasked.
